About Us

Our History

The Glass Slipper Foundation (TGS), an entity of Vessels Interceding Sowing Into Our Nation (VISION Inc.), is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that was inspired by adolescent who resided in a Residential Treatment Facility. The VISION Inc. team visited the facility to provide the residents with winter coats which were collected in the community. Kaitlyn, who was a high school senior, expressed a desire to participate in senior activities with a special emphasis on the prom. Kaitlyn did not have the support of family members or friends to provide her with the resources to attend the event but was hopeful that she would still make it. The VISION team made her a promise to provide the things she needed to attend the prom. With that promise, The Glass Slipper Foundation has provided prom gowns to over 690 girls.

In 2011, TGS formulated CUTE (Cultivating yoU To Excel Mentoring), a mentoring program in partnership with local Residential Treatment Facilities (RTC) and middle schools in Houston and Cleveland ISD providing services to their residents and students. In addition, TGS hosts an annual youth conference for  adolescents ages 11-17.

In 2013, CUTE Mentoring evolved into CUTE Youth Development and Prevention Program, which currently provides psycho-social education workshops to adolescents during the most critical times for delinquency for youth, out-of-school time.

What We Offer
Our Mission

The mission of our organization is to educate and engage at-risk adolescents through psycho-social education in leadership and prevention programs that will nurture positive change. We promote an open and inclusive support system for the physical, social and emotional needs of our youth.

Our Goals
  • To inspire and promote positive self-esteem, self-concept, and self-love.

  • To develop confidence in decision making skills, life skills, and coping skills.

  • To deter at-risk youth from delinquent behavior

  • To provide an effective learning experience where youth will have opportunities for growth in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

  • To encourage youth to pursue further education.

Our programs offer youth the opportunity to engage in activities that promote excitement about their future. Our programming is provided during both in school and out of school times to give our youth developmental opportunity during peak delinquent times.
